Specialist Cancer Nutritionist & Dietitian — UK

Cancer Nutritionist & Dietitian Support You Can Actually Trust

I'm Gina Giebner, a cancer dietitian with 20+ years of specialist gastrointestinal experience and a current NHS oncology caseload. I help people optimise nutrition before, during and after cancer treatment — and resolve long-term digestive problems that are often dismissed as “just IBS.”

Search “cancer nutritionist near me” and you'll find generalists. My practice is built specifically around the nutritional and digestive effects of cancer treatment — evidence-based, clinically grounded, and available UK-wide by video, or in person in Selkirk and Haddington.

Why I'm different

Why Choose a Specialist Cancer Nutritionist Over a Generalist

Generic nutrition advice doesn't account for the specific ways surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy or hormone therapy change digestion. My work as a cancer dietitian sits at the intersection of oncology and gastroenterology — identifying the real, treatable cause of your symptoms, not applying a one-size-fits-all diet sheet.

Bowel Problems After Cancer Treatment

Diarrhoea, urgency and unpredictable bowels after cancer treatment are a recognised, treatable condition — distinct from IBS. This is my flagship specialism.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Cancer Nutrition Support

A cancer dietitian assesses how a diagnosis and its treatment affect your ability to eat, digest and absorb nutrients, then builds a personalised plan to manage side effects, protect nutritional status, and address longer-term digestive changes after treatment ends.

Yes. A Registered Dietitian is regulated by the HCPC and trained in clinical nutrition science. Gina's practice combines that with current NHS oncology experience and advanced training in the late effects of cancer treatment — expertise a general nutritionist won't hold.

Often, yes. Surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and hormone therapy can each cause identifiable, treatable changes to bowel function that are frequently mislabelled as IBS.

Remote video consultations are available UK-wide and internationally, with the same clinical assessment and plan as an in-person appointment. Face-to-face clinics also run in Selkirk and Haddington, Scotland.
